Since my last posting, Double K Farms has suffered some serious losses...first, a raccoon got all but one of our six kittens and just last week, a fox (we think) got all nine of our beloved chickens. Then, just this week, our lovely Lola (the final kitten) succombed to a virus. In better news, we got two acres of aronia berries planted and the weather has been great! |

Venus is now behind the Sun, and is not visible. Mars begins the month in Leo, but soon moves into Cancer. Opposition is on January 29, but Mars is closest to Earth on January 27, 99.33 million kilometres away from Earth. It is close to the Moon on January 3. Jupiter is low in the southwest at sunset, and soon will disappear behind the Sun. It is close to the Moon on January 17. Saturn now rises just before midnight, and is visible in the south the rest of the night. It is in Virgo for the whole of January. Its rings are beginning to open again.
